Root Crops

The basic root vegetables like carrots, beets, parsnips and turnips can be found here, as well as the early spring root that likes cool wet weather, radishes (we also offer a winter radish but they are a bit trickier with our hot summers), and we have also listed onions here even though it is not the root you eat but a part located underground so we figured it fits in this category. Root vegetables appreciate lighter soil, regular watering (our gardens are simply irrigated by the rain and this works for us, but it depends how fast your soil dries out, and how much drier the years get!) and are usually grown in full sun.
